The Artists

More than 25 years ago, through work as an Interior Decorator in Erie, Pa. I met Jack Fiske who had brought a picture in to be framed and was told that I was the only one available that day to help him. He asked if I knew what the piece was and when I identified the piece as an Aborigine Bark Painting wondered how I would know! I answered that I had been an art teacher and he immediately asked -Do you draw? Do you paint? Are you afraid of heights? The rest is history.

All that I learned in school, the years of teaching, and more years working on interior design projects finally all came together. The two largest projects have been Our Lady of Victory Basilica in Lackawanna, NY and Shea's Performing Arts Center in Buffalo, NY. My young colleagues have fulfilled my goal of passing on my knowledge and skills for the next generation of restorationists.

i have been told that i am stubborn, but i refuse to believe it. i don't care much for ice cream. Hope. i want to make a difference in the world. i love to sing and dance. i wish i had magic dust that i could sprinkle on people when i want them to be quiet. Dream. i will forever be a daydreamer. i love strawberry milk. Learn. knowledge IS power. i don't want to grow old. i am 38 years old and i still have my teddy bear, and i would miss him if i lost him. Listen. i am incredibly shy. i want to always be loved. i am comfortable being alone, but never want to be  lonely. Patience. i am an artist with all my heart and soul.

"Your imagination is your preview of life's coming attractions." - Albert Einstein

I was once told that I was a dreamer. At the time, I took that as an insult...and I'm sure that was its intent. But now, at the ripe age of 30, I've learned to embrace this quality. What if Albert Einstein failed to dream? Or Martin Luther King Jr.? Or Galileo? Or Shakespeare? Or Sojourner Truth? Or Leonardo da Vinci? Or anyone else that has influenced the world in a positive way? But with dreaming, in my case anyway, comes a feeling of unrest. There's so much to do and experience but not enough time to fit everything in.

I'm indecisive. I'm my own worst critic. I cherish my family. I (now) love my work. I'm afraid of moths. Spiders are disgusting. I'm quiet. I'm respectful. I can sometimes
be overbearing (just ask my husband). But overall I AM a dreamer. And I've choosen art as my expression.

  1. My favorite Einstein quote:

"Knowledge will take you from A to B. Imagination can take you anywhere."

I'm not sure the exact wording; I'll have to double-check.
